On your arrival, you will be picked up from your Alexandria hotel and transferred to one of the most famous holy lands and spiritual sites of Egypt, the Wadi El Natrun Valley. It is considered to be one of the earliest Christian communities and influenced early European monastic practice; it is also the location of the last pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

The Wadi El Natrun is also recognized as being the 'spiritual homeland of the Coptic Church. In earlier centuries, it was thought that fifty monasteries were built here, and that time and nature have reduced this number to four.

Your Alexandria day tour to the monasteries of Wadi El Natrun commences with a visit to Deir El-Baramus (the Monastery of the Romans) the oldest and the most isolated of the remaining monasteries, followed by a visit to Deir Anba Bishoy (Monastery of Saint Bishoy) which still houses the holy bones of St. Bishoi and ends with a visit to Deir El-Suryani (the Monastery of the Syrians) which is considered to be the smallest, most perfect monastery still standing with unique frescoes decorating the walls.
