Itinerary

On your first day, you will be met by an expert English-speaking tour guide from Egypt Legend Tours. After arranging pick up, he will pick you from your Alexandria hotel to begin a full day of sightseeing around this beautiful Mediterranean city.

First, you will visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa a labyrinthine underground necropolis which comprises three rock-cut tombs spread over three levels and blends Egyptian, Greek, and Roman art. Examine the Triclinium, an ancient table and chairs carved into rock where banquets were held, explore ancient carvings, figures of gods (Sobek and Anubis), and mythic portrayals of events in Roman Egypt.

Next, explore the Roman Amphitheatre one of Alexandria's oldest ruins. Dating back to the 2nd century AD, it has marble seating, a mosaic floor, and stone galleries, and could once seat as many as 800 guests enjoying a range of public performances.

Then, you will move to the Library of Alexandria, the contemporary library that pays homage to the ancient library. One of the world's most notable cultural institutions and centres for higher learning.

Then, you will visit Pompey's Pillar, the tallest Roman column in Egypt, located in what is left of the ancient Serapeum temple complex.

Later on, take a photo stop at Qaitbay Citadel, which was built on the site of one of the ancient world's original Seven Wonders, the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

From here, you will visit the Royal Jewelry Museum and later drive to Montaza Garden, which is a lovely royal seaside park overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with a nice view of Montaza Palace.

On your way back, you may stop by Stanley Bridge for a leisurely walk along the seaside. Lunch is included at a local restaurant during the tour.
